1. Mobile Student ID Card is provided by
Pivo Wallet Oy, (Business ID 2241007-8), hereinafter “Pivo”
Gebhardinaukio 1, 00510, Helsinki
Belonging to OP Financial Group, Pivo Wallet Oy is registered in the Trade Register maintained by the Finnish Patent and Registration Office.
Students’ union or other body representing students that has signed an agreement with Pivo on the provision of a digital student ID card for its students.
A third party that accepts the Mobile Student ID Card as proof of student status and offers services and/or benefits in relation to it.
An application downloaded to a mobile device with which you can use services offered by Pivo, its partners or Service Providers, and payment and financial management services.
3.Mobile Student ID Card service
The Mobile Student ID Card is a digital student ID card that can be downloaded into the Pivo application.
You can use the Mobile Student ID Card for verifying your student status to the Service Provider and for using services and/or benefits offered by the Service Provider based on it. The Mobile Student ID Card service may also comprise advertisements of Pivo, Pivo’s partners and Service Providers or information concerning available benefits.
4. Mobile Student ID Card service availability and technical requirements
Enabling and using the Student ID Card requires that your Student Organisation has signed an agreement with Pivo on the service and that Pivo will receive information on your valid membership and attendance from your Student Organisation or educational establishment.
Using the Mobile Student ID Card service requires a mobile device and a subscription transferring data to the mobile device. You will be responsible for the operation and data security your mobile device and for its and compatibility with the Mobile Student ID Card.
Before you can use the Mobile Student ID Card, you must enable the Pivo application.
We will publish updates, of which you will receive information on your mobile device. Failing to implement the updates may prevent you from using the Student ID Card.
Pivo does not guarantee the uninterrupted availability of the Mobile Student ID card. Pivo may interrupt availability for the duration of maintenance, for example.
5. The customer’s responsibility and careful use
As a customer you will be responsible for ensuring that any information you give is correct and always up to date.
Your Mobile Student ID Card is personal. Store the Pivo Service credentials providing access to the Student ID Card safely so that other people may not misuse it.
6.Service charges and fees
Using the Mobile Student ID Card is free of charge but requires online data transmission.
Your operator may charge for data transfer related to mobile data, and you will be responsible for any expenses caused by the use of the Mobile Student ID Card. Pivo will not be responsible for charges related to data transfer or other telecom services. Any fees or remuneration related to services and or benefits offered by Service Providers will be agreed separately with the Service Provider.
7. Pivo’s right to disable the Mobile Student ID Card
Pivo has the right to disable the Mobile Student ID Card and prevent its use entirely or in part if:
- you have provided false information at registration or later;
- you are subject to international sanctions;
- safe use of the Mobile Student ID Card use has been compromised;
- there is reason to suspect that the Mobile Student ID Card is being used in an unauthorised manner or with fraudulent intent;
- Pivo does not receive information from the Student Organisation or educational facility on your membership or attendance;
- the agreement between Pivo and the educational facility on the provision of the digital student ID card has been terminated; or
- Pivo needs to change the Mobile Student ID Card or its terms and conditions in a way that continuing to use it with new terms and conditions or properties requires your approval.
Pivo will inform you of the closure of the Mobile Student ID Card on the Pivo application or by sending a message to your mobile device.
International sanctions refer to a sanction, financial sanction, export or import ban, trade embargo or another restrictive action imposed, administered, approved or executed by the Finnish government, United Nations, European Union, United States of America and United Kingdom or their competent authorities or governing bodies.
8. Liability for loss or damage
The Mobile Student ID Card is provided ‘as is’, and we do not guarantee that it is error-free or available without interruption. If we cause loss or damage by acting in breach of the agreement, we will only compensate direct loss or damage, unless this has been caused wilfully or through gross negligence, or unless otherwise provided by mandatory legislation.
Pivo will not be responsible for the services or benefits of Service Providers, or of their terms and conditions, payments, performance or data security.
Pivo will not be held liable for any damage or loss caused by a force majeure event or any unreasonable comparable impairment of Pivo’s operations due to a similar cause. Force majeure encountered by Pivo or its supplier entitles Pivo to suspend the provision of the Mobile Student ID Card.
9. Alterations of the agreement, its terms and conditions, and service properties
Pivo has the right to change these terms and conditions, the content of the Mobile Student ID Card service and the requirements set for devices intended for the use of the Mobile Student ID Card service by sending a notice of it to your mobile device. Changes that do not add to your responsibilities or weaken your rights will come into effect immediately. If the change will increase your responsibilities or weaken your rights, it will take effect no earlier than one month after you received information about it.
The agreement will continue with the altered content unless you terminate your Mobile Student ID Card before the change takes effect. You have the right, until the effective date of the changes, to terminate the agreement with immediate effect as described in section 15.
If necessary, instead of using the procedure described above, we may require that you accept the new terms and conditions as indicated in 8, before you can continue using Mobile Student ID Card.
10. Personal data processing
Pivo processes your personal data in accordance with the legislation in force and in a manner described in greater detail in the Privacy Notice of Pivo Wallet. We recommend that you read the privacy protection information referred to.
The Privacy Notice is available at www.pivo.fi.
We may store information related to your transactions and events and record telephone conversations. Such recordings may be used for purposes specified in the Privacy Notice.
11. Intellectual property rights
All rights related to the Mobile Student ID Card service and its content, including proprietary right, copyright, patents, trademarks and all other intellectual property rights, belong to Pivo and/or a third party, unless otherwise specifically agreed on in some respects.
You have the right to use the Mobile Student ID Card only in the manner described in these terms and conditions. When using the Mobile Student ID Card, you may not infringe on the intellectual property rights of Pivo. The Mobile Student ID Card or its content may not be modified or copied in any manner whatsoever nor shared, distributed, transmitted, displayed publicly or published in another manner in part or as such or modified.
12. Assignment of the agreement
Pivo has the right to assign this agreement, including the rights and obligations based thereupon, in full or in part to the party specified by OP. You have no right to assign this agreement to a third party.
13. Cancelling the Pivo service agreement
You have the right to cancel the implementation and contract of the Mobile Student ID Card within 14 days of concluding the agreement by informing Pivo about it by email to firstname.lastname@example.org or by phoning Pivo’s customer service on 0203-56789 Mon–Sun between 6.00–23.00.
14. Term and termination of the agreement
The agreement is effective until further notice.
You can terminate the agreement by uninstalling the Pivo application or by removing the student ID card service in Pivo. Pivo has the right to cancel this agreement applying a one (1) month notice period from the date of termination.
This agreement is also terminated if Pivo does not receive information on your membership or attendance from the Student Organisation or educational facility for 12 months.
Pivo has the right to cancel the agreement with immediate effect if you are in material breach of these terms and conditions or use the Mobile Student ID Card in activities that are against the law or good practice.
Pivo will notify you of the termination or cancellation in a message to your mobile device.
15. Applicable laws, non-juridical procedures and jurisdiction
The laws of Finland shall apply to this agreement, with the exception of the connecting factor rule, regardless of the country where the service is used.

If you disagree with the decision made by Pivo, you can submit the matter in writing to OP Financial Group’s Customer Ombudsman (www.op.fi/asiakasasiamies). Customer Ombudsman is a fast and free-of-charge complaint-handling body and its handling is independent of the previous decision.
You can submit the matter to the Consumer Disputes Board. www.kuluttajariita.fi. You may also bring action in the District Court of your Finnish domicile, or in Helsinki. If you are not domiciled in Finland, the place of jurisdiction is the Helsinki District Court.
